How to get here?

We are located 40 minutes from Huatulco International Airport. We can set up airport pick-ups with our trusted English Speaking driver Jorge.

Yiimtii is 50 minutes away from the tourist corridor MAZUNTE – SAN AGUSTINILLO – ZIPOLITE. The closest town to Yiimtii is San Pedro Pochutla, 35 minutes away.  From Pochutla you can take a taxi to Zapotengo’s chapel on the beach, where we can pick you up in our 4×4 vehicle to drive up the steep road towards the Ecological Reserve.

If you are driving:

FROM POCHUTLA– take coastal highway 200 south from Pochutla toward Huatulco after the kilometer 217 marker you will cross a bridge (Puente el Aguacate) and you will drive uphill on a windy road for approx .8 miles. Take an immediate right on the dirt road at this point (there is a little sign that says Zapotengo).

FROM HUATULCO– take coastal highway 200 in the direction of San Pedro Pochutla and Puerto Escondido. After you pass the roadside village of Los Ciruelos you will notice to your left a Mezcal and Artcraft Yellow Store. A little bit after, you will find to your left the exit towards the dirt road that leads to Zapotengo.

It is approximately 2 miles on the dirt road to reach the village of Zapotengo. You will go down a switchback road with amazing views towards Zapotengo’s hidden valley. Once you are down, you will keep right and cross a bridge, this road leads towards Zapotengo’s beach. Yiimtii is located 1.2 miles up to the right from the fork that goes down to the beach.

If you’re arriving on a rental we will be happy to come and pick you up in Zapotengo and arrange for your car to stay safely parked at the village, because the rugged dirt road that goes up to the Reserve needs a 4×4 vehicle. Pick-up and drop-off is included in your stay, but extra roudtrips to the car and village are charged at $250MXN.

This dropped pin is for the point in the village where we can leave your car parked.

Please take into account that there’s no mobile phone signal on the road or at the village, so the best would be to download the route before you take off.

Public transportation does not come into the village. The closest public transportation is on the main coastal road, 4 miles away from the Ecological Reserve but a very doable walk if you like hiking.
